4.E.A. Global RDP Settings

The RDP global settings contain the global default settings for all RDP connections.
With the point Enable mapping of serial port COMX the local serial port is mapped in to the RDP-Session.
If available there can be COM-Port 1 to 4 and COM-Port 10 managed.
You can also map a virtual USB-modem port.
At the option enable mapping of parallel port you can redirect the parallel ports of the Thin Client to the terminal session.
If XBackingstore is activated it lessens the network load because already rendered areas of the display will be buffered.
Mapping the local drives to the Thin Client has two ways:
  • With map all disks on a single letter all detected drives are shown as folders under a single drive letter. Set up the drive letter in the drop-down menu Map on letter.
  • Alternatively you can Map each disk on a different letter using RDP which assigns every drive an individual letter. The detected drives are listed, and each of them has an own drop down menu that lets you determine the drive letter.
Checking the box Enable printers mapping on the Thin Client will map printer in the terminal session. The default printer will be shown next to default printer. If the Animation-option is activated visual animations of menus and windows can be enabled.
If Show window while dragging is activated the Client tries to show the content of windows while dragging a window with the cursor. With the settings Desktop background and Themes the desktop background and individual themes can be enabled or disabled.
Font smoothing can be enabled or disabled.
